Collagen Induction Microneedling

MEDICAL-GRADE COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY

Collagen induction microneedling therapy uses a medical-grade device with ultra-fine sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. This process activates the skin’s natural wound-healing cascade within the dermal layer, stimulating fibroblast activity and promoting collagen and elastin synthesis to support skin rejuvenation.

Works at precise depths ranging from 0.5–2.5 mm (depending on the treatment area and skin concern) to remodel scar tissue, refine skin texture, reduce fine lines, tighten pores, and promote overall skin rejuvenation — without removing the surface skin layers.

The treatment is highly effective for concerns such as uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, fine lines, mild acne scarring, and dull or tired-looking skin. One of the most versatile and proven skin treatments available.

For enhanced outcomes, microneedling can be combined with advanced regenerative solutions such as Rejuran, exosomes, NCTF, or specialised skin serums. A series of 3–6 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is typically recommended for optimal results. When performed using appropriate clinical protocols, microneedling is suitable for most skin types.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment that uses a medical device with very fine sterile needles to create tiny controlled micro-channels in the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate the body’s natural healing response, activating fibroblasts and increasing collagen and elastin production in the dermis.

Aftercare Guide

Post Treatment Care
1

First 24 Hours

Skin may appear red and feel warm or dry, similar to mild sunburn. Avoid makeup, active skincare (retinoids, AHA/BHA, vitamin C), and exfoliation. Use a gentle hydrating cleanser and moisturiser. Avoid excessive heat (sauna, hot showers, intense exercise) and direct sun exposure. Do not touch or pick the treated skin. Use a clean pillowcase.

2

Days 2-3

Mild redness, dryness, or light flaking may occur as the skin begins to renew. Use a gentle cleanser, moisturiser, and apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ daily. Avoid exfoliating acids, retinoids, and active treatments. Light makeup may be applied if needed.

3

Days 4-7

Skin typically begins to feel smoother and brighter. Continue gentle skincare and sun protection. Light hydrating serums and barrier-repair products can be resumed. Avoid aggressive exfoliation or harsh treatments. Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ daily.

4

Weeks 2-12

Collagen remodelling and skin regeneration continue beneath the surface. Gradual improvements in skin texture, pore appearance, and acne scarring may become visible. You may return to your normal skincare routine once the skin has fully recovered. Maintain daily SPF to protect new collagen formation.

Important Precautions

For optimal results, a series of treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is typically recommended.

Skin may appear red, warm, and sensitive (similar to mild sunburn) for the first 24–48 hours.

Avoid makeup for at least 12–24 hours after treatment to allow the skin barrier to begin healing.

For the first 3 days, apply only gentle, hydrating skincare products recommended by your clinician.

Daily SPF 50+ sun protection is essential once the skin has settled. Avoid direct sun exposure during the healing period.

Avoid active ingredients such as retinol, exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA), and vitamin C for 5–7 days or until the skin has fully recovered.

Avoid swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms, and intense exercise for 48 hours to reduce irritation and infection risk.

Mild peeling or flaking between days 3–5 is a normal part of the skin renewal process. Do not pick or exfoliate the skin during this time.

Expected Skin Timeline

1

Immediately After Treatment

Skin may appear red with mild warmth and sensitivity, similar to light sunburn. This is a normal response as the skin begins its natural healing process.

2

24–48 Hours

Redness gradually subsides. Skin may feel slightly tight or dry as the epidermal barrier begins to repair.

3

3–5 Days

Light flaking or dryness may occur as the skin renews. Many patients begin to notice the skin feeling smoother and more refreshed.

4

7–14 Days

Early improvements in skin texture, radiance, and pore appearance may become visible as dermal repair continues.

5

4–12 Weeks

Collagen remodelling continues within the dermis, gradually improving skin firmness, texture, and the appearance of fine lines and acne scars.

Frequently Asked Questions

What skin concerns does Collagen Induction Microneedling address?

Collagen Induction Microneedling is effective for treating acne scars, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin texture, stretch marks, skin dullness, and general skin rejuvenation. It can also enhance the absorption of active skincare ingredients applied during or after the treatment.

How many sessions do I need?

Most clients require 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart for significant improvement, particularly for acne scarring and texture concerns. Maintenance sessions every 3–6 months are recommended to sustain collagen production and results.

Is Collagen Induction Microneedling painful?

A topical numbing cream is applied prior to treatment to ensure comfort. The procedure involves some sensation, but it is generally well tolerated by most clients. The intensity depends on the needle depth used, which is adjusted to your specific skin concern and tolerance.

What is K-Glass skin recovery facial combo?

For patients seeking deeper skin hydration and enhanced skin recovery, we also recommend combining microneedling with our LDM Water Drop Facial. This advanced ultrasound technology uses dual-frequency oscillation to stimulate dermal metabolism and improve the movement of water molecules within the skin. The treatment helps increase skin hydration, support lymphatic circulation, and strengthen the skin barrier. When paired with microneedling, the LDM Water Drop Facial helps restore moisture balance, calm the skin, and promote a plumper, more radiant complexion.
